Accessibility Statement

Statement date: 23 October 2026. Last audit: Owner to confirm.

1. Our commitment

We want everyone who studies with ELITE-X Tanzania, including people with disabilities, to sign up, pay, read course information and get support without barriers. We treat accessibility problems as defects to fix.

2. Standards

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 at Level AA and to meet the WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria where they apply. The public pages are built to that target. This is a target, not a claim of full conformance; the known limitations in section 4 explain where we fall short.

3. Features we have built

  • A skip link at the top of every page that jumps to the main content.
  • Semantic headings, landmarks and one main heading per page.
  • Visible keyboard focus on links, buttons and form fields.
  • Form labels for every field, with error messages linked to the field they describe.
  • Text colours that meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against the page background in both the light and dark themes.
  • Form input borders strengthened to at least 3:1 against the background on public pages.
  • Buttons and form fields are at least 44 pixels high.
  • Layouts are built for narrow screens. We have not yet tested every page at 360 pixels wide; that check is on the release list.
  • Animation is removed when your device requests reduced motion.
  • Light, dark and system themes. The theme follows your device setting until you choose one.
  • Page content and the course catalogue work without JavaScript. Search, the FAQ filter, the cookie notice and the install button need JavaScript.

4. Known limitations

  • Some decorative borders on cards use a lighter colour than 3:1. They do not carry information, but we are changing them.
  • Some green and amber status colours in the light theme are below 4.5:1 on white. We avoid using them for text, but they still appear in some status panels.
  • Payment screenshots uploaded by students may not have a text description. Administrators review them in a separate view, and the submitted name and reference are stored as text.
  • Video and audio course content, where a course provides it, depends on the course owner for captions and transcripts.
  • Pages in the signed-in area, including the admin tables, are being reviewed and are not yet covered by this statement.
  • We have not yet completed a full audit with people who use assistive technology. Our last audit date is shown above.

5. Feedback

Tell us about an accessibility barrier, the page address and what you tried. You can also tell us which format would help you, such as a larger page or a text version of a document. Email Owner to confirm or use the support form and choose “Accessibility”.
